Renal Failure Testing
What happens physiologically in chronic renal failure and GFR?
Chronic renal failure adversely affects the standard functionality of the glomerulus and kidney at large. The normal physiological process of the kidney, which includes eliminating toxic and excess from the blood, is impaired (Zhong, Yang & Fogo, 2017). For instance, the disease damages the structure of the kidney glomerulus, thus leaking blood protein such as Albumin into the urine. Besides, reduced GFR occurs due to the accumulation of salts, water and urea on the afferent and efferent arteriole walls.

Urine test for Albumin
A kidney in good health condition prevents leakage of Albumin into the urine, whereas an infected kidney allows Albumin into the urine. The less the Albumin in blood, the health the kidney.
