Reflections on Argumentation

INSTRUCTIONS:

This paper is a reflection on argumentation, I have chosen to write about about using Ethos in writing and the importance of integrating quotations in your writting. Here are the given instructions:   For our final essay of the class, select two concepts we have studied this quarter and show how and why they are important to developing persuasive and engaging arguments. The list above can help you find a focus, but we will do some brainstorming in class, too. Any effective argument requires evidence. To support your ideas, turn to the three majors essays you have written this quarter. Use your own work to support your claims about the two class concepts you have chosen to write about. How in the world do I write my essay? For instance, let’s say you want to argue for the importance of using Kairos and for the need to vary your punctuation. How would you approach such an essay? What will your readers need to know?  They will need to understand Kairos is and why it matters. In addition, why have you chosen Kairos as a focus? Demonstrate your knowledge of this concept; teach your reader. Include an example or two from your own essays to show how you have used Kairos effectively to build an argument. Quote and/or paraphrase your own writing. Now, bring in your second focus: punctuation. How can you connect Kairos to punctuation? How can you help your reader follow the transition? Can punctuation help make an argument seem more timely, even urgent? Sure it can! Show how.  Now develop your second focus: how can punctuation help to make and support an effective argument? Provide an example or two from your own essays.   Criteria. 3-4 pages of solid writing. Carefully consider every word, sentence, paragraph break, transition, and quotation. Show off a bit! While you can quote from anything we have read/watched/discussed this quarter as evidence, you MUST cite your own writing at least twice. Include a brief cover letter discussing the essay.
