Problem Identification/ Developing Research Question.  Identify a challenge or problem that you would like to research for your proposal and develop a question to address this issue.  Provide a description of your topic and the challenge/problem you identified and develop a research question.  This exercise should consist of the Problem Statement, Purpose Statement, and the Research Question (see prep handout for Skills Building Exercise#1).
