Task#1 Identify and describe a significant, contemporary problem and potential solution that are connected by computing and the Internet to a societal, economic or cultural context. The problem and/or potential solution must: have a strong connection to computing and the Internet impact a significant population (more than a few hundred people.) Task#2 Content: You must write your own content. Copying and pasting from other sources is plagiarism and will result in an “F” Grade (Less than 60 points) for the final project. Define the problem. – Identify the problem – Describe the problem clearly. – What population is affected and how? – What specific characteristics of the Internet are relevant to this problem? – How are the Internet and the problem connected? Provide a solution. – – Describe the potential solution clearly. – – Explain how your solution addresses the problem. – – What specific characteristics of the internet are relevant to this solution? How do they enable this solution? – – Provide at least one potentially beneficial effect your solution has on computing and the internet as it relates to society, culture, or economics. – – Provide at least one potentially harmful effect your solution has on computing and the internet as it relates to society, culture, or economics. – – Explain how people contributed to the development of the solution. – – Identify and describe one field other than computing that contributed to or is impacted by the solution – * Cite at least one specific example. – * Describe how the field contributes to or is impacted by the solution. – • Include at least two current references that provide context for the problem and solution. The references should be permanent and of high quality, e.g., not a link to an online article that could change over time. If you use more than two references, you must cite those as well. • Most of your content pages should include at least one image; if you do not own rights to the images, you must cite your sources. Identify at least one cyber security concern related to the problem and/or its potential solution (depending on which of these are connected to computing and the Internet.) This is not the central problem/solution you should be focusing on; it is simply something that your hypothetical constituents will be concerned with. You should have a page on your site that assuages their fears.
