We have examined and learned about a wide range of disparities, behaviors, and practices in the American policing system (e.g., police militarization, use of force, racial disparities, etc.). Your job is to engage your sociological imagination to inform public policy. More specifically, you were asked to provide expert opinion to the Presidential Task Force on police reform. Again, you are the expert one area (you choose this area) and you were asked to come up with one reform goal and proposal  (with supporting evidence from the social science literature) that you’d like to see passed into legislation. This legislation will be voted on by congress. This reform goal will need to be 5 (double spaced). You must use outside sources to support your positionality. Please do not simply provide your opinion, this should be a research driven paper in which you take a stance and make a critical argument with supporting evidence for reform.   Some examples of potential topics:    racial disparities in policing   excessive use of force  police militarization  Anti-Black racism in policing  Officer Accountability
