The first video "The Punishable Perils of Plagiarism" postulates that fighting plagiarism is a critical affair that affects authors and scholars at all spheres of life. The behavior runs from brainchild-snatching to the extent of extracting whole quotes. First, the brainchild-snatching is the initial level of plagiarism that entails taking small quotes and putting them together with little changes on the original words. Consequently, when brainchild-snatching behavior comes together, a ring is formed where the perpetrator extract information from multiple sources; on the far extreme of this behavior, some authors may copy their information and present it as new, this is considered as the laziest form of plagiarism. Secondly, the wild guise-chase-techniques is the most coveted kind of plagiarism which entails creating fake titles and authors. The Department of Plagiarism Investigation fights with a misconception that quoting texts and providing references is a sure way of avoiding accusation. The TED-Ed summarizes by arguing that academic mischief range from the petty ignorance to the magnanimous form of plagiarism.

The second video “Summarizing and Paraphrasing" focuses on appropriate technique to use when redrafting idea. While summering and paraphrasing are closely related, a scholar or an author should know when to use each of the methods.
