INSTRUCTIONS:
Developing a philosophy of leadership and education requires an enlightened awareness of one's strengths and areas requiring more knowledge relative to the profession. One must continually evaluate oneself and explore interests, abilities, and values to determine how these relate to personal and professional objectives. The Philosophy of Education Paper should be a be a succinct well--‐ written summary (doubled spaced pages of text, with 1” margins --‐750 to 1000 word count limit) that asks you to (a) identify your vision and professional goals, (b) assess your essential principles or core values (the fundamental beliefs you hold to drive your work as an educator and leader), (c) how you see and define your role as a leader, and (d) basic assumptions that guide you. Your philosophy undoubtedly will be driven by your own commitment to educational leadership, experiences and judgment, and interests and strengths.
