I
have always loved being an eloquent public speaker; my devotion to understanding
English which was inspired by my Chinese background has inspired me to go the
extra mile not only to understand the English language but to be a good
linguist, public speaker. I was having some challenges in public speaking even
after mastering the English language that I struggled a lot to learn. When I
recall the days I had to rely on someone to aid me in learning the signs on my
walks, I understand that I have traced the longer way to my success. I need to
have that ability and the passion for being that one excellent speaker on big
public speaking platforms.
Conversing
effectively on a group of people exceeding ten has been a problem and
especially when the faces were anonymous, or there was piled up pressure on me
because the audience increased expectations on me. I can recall a day when we
had a community-organized football tournament, and upon the end of the matches,
I was “unlucky” to be called to give a vote of thanks. I can remember that the
number of people within could not exceed eighty, but I could not manage to talk
to them. I uttered not more than five words before I froze and murmured my way
away from the podium.
When
I was first introduced to public speaking private evening classes, way back in
2015, I could say to myself that these efforts would be a dedication to my
ever-supportive parents. I could imagine
that I have to make them proud where they are. I thought that having the best
public speaking skills I could use to encourage young school-going children to
make more effort in academics despite the challenges they go through in life. I
am proving that determination and resilience are important in shaping one’s way
up to success. I believe where I am today is a true definition of success.
