In this exercise we will work through an initial example of creating SIPOC and process charts. We will return often to these skill as we map out performance regimes. SIPOC Chart We will start by examining the operations of a typical fast-food restaurant (McDonalds, Chipotle, KFC, etc.). While this restaurant example is not strongly related to public management, it is a process for which I am confident that most of you have some experience. Think through how the restaurant prepares its food. Map out a high level SIPOC chart of the process. If you plan on continuing at the same position, chart out the search for a new position. Brainstorm all of the activities involved. The process chart should include start and stop points, steps, decision points, document creation steps. It may also include steps for storing data, inputting information and delays.
