Do you believe that peer-reviewed publishing continues to be the preferred distribution for Knowledge?

Scholarly journals have existed for over 340 years with peer review being less common among early academic sources. While most scholarly and scientific studies implement a significant level of peer review today, the latter is under scrutiny by the scholars and the lay press (Chang, 2006). With the increasing demand for knowledge, I believe peer-reviewed remain preferred distribution for knowledge fueled by uprising impact electronic dissemination. Besides, through peer-review, scholars have saved a great deal of cost and effort in conducting scientific research.

If I were to place my writing, I would prefer Creative Commons licensing. Creative Commons license, although based on parlance, provide a fair use under public domain. Furthermore, it provides a jurisdiction that protects the original content and at the same time allowing the user to access the peer-reviewed content “we all win under creative commons licensing.” (Chang, 2006). In addition, Creative Commons provide the basis for a copyright without which no license for content protection would be granted.
