Thoreau's Pastoral design has essential to readers. One of these key messages is that truth is an important life aspect that determines people’s happiness. I like the way you have addressed the importance of upholding truth, as depicted in Leo Marx’s essay. I also feel satisfied with how you applied examples in your original post; for instance, you indicated that many American are perceived as living in a "depressing State of Mind." I totally agree with this observation because many people have lost the meaning of life, and all they do is to pursue short-lives treasures. I believe that people are busy chasing other people’s goals instead of focusing on their own.

Your post about Solitude is very informative. You have given me a fresh perspective to add my knowledge to what I had learned about Thoreau's essay on 'Solitude.' It is true that Thoreau’s conceptualization of ‘alone’ and ‘loneliness’ is different in that being alone, one is only isolated from the ‘buzz’ of the society while loneliness is when is deeply engraved into thoughts.
