is an essential aspect of life and determines the prosperity of an individual,
and by extension, the status of a community.
Promoting learning and enhancing the acquisition of knowledge is a
collective responsibility that entails a broader scope of stakeholders. Parties
involved in creating good learning environment include, and not limited to
government, students, teachers, and most importantly, the parents.
Specifically, the role of parents in promoting the process of learning goes
beyond the mere provision of learning material and paying fees and extends to
encouraging the learners by acting as role models. Parental involvement in
children’s education has some advantages and disadvantages; therefore parents
should find a balance to ensure success.
First,
parents impact students positively hence improving their performance (Ntekane,
