Otherness Interview

Introduction

In my field experience, I interviewed Houari, a male from Algeria.

I met him during my vacation a couple of years ago.

The most fascinating thing about our first meeting was that we maintained contact and even planned to date.

Houari is a Moroccan living in Algeria and he is a Muslim believer. 

In the first vacation of this year, I visited his country and learned much about their culture.

How his personal experience is similar to mine

In our first interaction, we discussed intensively his experiences and I noted were similar in some ways

First, having been born in Morocco and living in Algeria, he feels not at home due to the mix of cultures. This is similar to my account; being an African-American, sometimes I feel as if I am assimilating a lot from the white community's way of life
