Internal/External Analysis You may select a public company of your choice, but it may not be a company included in scheduled cases or group projects. Please do not analyze your current/past company (too much insider information), although you may select a company in your industry.    Complete both internal and external analyses, focusing on the 5 Forces and a Value Chain. When doing the value chain, note that resources are nouns and capabilities are verbs (this may help simplify conceptualization of the Value Chain).    Do not explain the purpose of a 5 Forces or Value Chain analysis. Simply provide relevant information on the company.    Your project submission will consist of an 8-slide PowerPoint presentation (maximum), including a slide for references. Create slides that present main ideas and vital information, but that would be legible and appropriate for presentation. You may use the notes function for additional detail.    Include diagrams or charts that illustrate the 5 Forces and a Value Chain with a few supporting bullet points or statements.    Include at least one slide to discuss business-level strategy and how the company's strategy fits with what you have found in your external and internal analysis.    Communicate your ideas thoroughly and concisely.    Quality and detail matter. Even though it is short, I expect high quality and good research.    Partner projects should be the students' original work.        You may discuss with other students if you are unsure of concepts or topics from class, but not specifics related to your specific project (company or industry).        In assessing your projects, I will group any that overlap by industry or organization to compare for similarity.    Use at least 5 sources, not including the textbook. Poor sources will not count for full credit.    Cite your sources. Use only credible sources, and do not use analyses done by others (do not google “5 forces analysis” for your company).        Anything "pedia" is not acceptable. Do not use any analysis done by any other source.    You may cite sources in any acceptable style (APA, MLA, Chicago). Citations are graded.
