What is Organizational Behavior?
This can be described as the study that involves the analysis
of the level of individual and group performance as well as activity within a
given organizational setup. Martin (2004) asserts that organizational behavior
examines how humans behave in a work environment, this also involves the
determination of how human behavior impacts leadership, motivation,
communication, performance, job structure, and so on. Besides, organizational
behavior enables the top management of an organization to determine the
patterns of behavior so that they can comprehend and try to shape the companies
internal conditions.
What are the two forms of workforce diversity?
Ethnicity and individual differences are the two significant
forms of workforce diversity in a work environment; these differences bear an
effect on job performance and satisfaction. Individual differences refer to the
biological dissimilarities among a workforce, for example, disability, gender,
race, and so on. On the other hand, ethnicity can be defined as the ethnic and
racial backgrounds of individuals. According to Furnham (2004), the workforce
in a particular organization is described by the various factors of diversity
about the demographic characteristics exhibited.
