INSTRUCTIONS:
• A brief description of the oppression or social injustice issue, including the following: o The nature of the problem/issue in terms of: size, scope, severity/consequences, population(s) and systems impacted/involved, and causes/etiology; o culturally-, theoretically-, and empirically-informed social work strategies (at the micro, mezzo, and/or macro levels) for addressing the problem/issue • The target audience for the training (not “the class”; consider what professional audience(s) would benefit from your training, including specific fields of social work practice). The overall focus should be on why the issue of concern is important to address to the chosen targeted audience. • Training format/elements: These could include lecture, panel presentations, activities, audiovisuals, breakouts, handouts/resources, simulations, role plays, etc., as well as needed supplies. Explain why you also chose this particular format. • 2-3 learning objectives that indicate how participants are expected to benefit professionally from the training (essential for CEUs!). Be sure to use action words, such as describe, discuss, list, indicate, explain, demonstrate, etc.), e.g., At the conclusion of this training, participants should be able to… • Intersectional lens: Indicate exactly how intersectionality is a central feature of the training. • Key concepts from the course: Indicate specific course concepts (covered in class, course readings, and/or other course materials/discussions) that are incorporated into the training. • References: List in APA format a minimum of 3 scholarly/professional references that will inform the team’s work.
