One of the themes of the course is that behaviors, attitudes, values, and concepts are often shaped by the stories we pass along and tell ourselves and each other. Do we see examples of this in our society? What examples do you know of where we tell ourselves things that may or may not be true, but which reinforce a behavior? Are there sayings or stories, for example, which reinforce any of the points in the L. Robert Kohls article, "The Values Americans Live By"?
