1. Choose a Piece of Music (A Composition, Song, Album, Genre) that you love, hate, about which you are curious about, or about which you have a point of view. (If it is a BIG topic, choose a manageable element as an exemplar, for example, one song.) 2. Research the topic in books, articles, or dissertations, or contemporary journals, magazines, or newspapers. Find out something you did not know, or information to inform, enrich, or challenge your viewpoint. 3. Write about it. What do you want someone to know about it? How would you show somebody WHAT you think about it or WHY you feel that way? 5. Include a title to your paper.
