World War II (WWII) represented one
of the most significant global events since it involved brutal warfare between
the Axis and the Allies. It started in 1939, extending to 1945, and within this
period, the war created battle areas, also popularly known as theatres. WWII
had the following theatres; the European and the Pacific Theatres, representing
the physical places of heavy fighting. The Pacific Theatre was a predominant
theatre between Japan and the allies. At the same time, the European Theater took
covered an expansive area in Europe and started after the U.S.S.R and Germany
invaded the Polish territory. Deployment of passionate soldiers and demoralization
strategies against enemy forces represented the similarities in both warring
theatres. In contrast, there were dissimilarities, for instance, the sparing
use of battleships in European Theater and the difference in the mechanization
of weapons were the notable strategic and tactical differences of the two
battle zones.
