Tarana Burke is a civil rights activist and the funder of the # Me Too movement. She an American by nationality, and she was born in New York City on 12th September 1973.  She is from a humble family, but her mother introduced her to great African American writers at a young age who, in turn, inspired her to join the leadership world. Burke joined the leadership movement at the age of 14 years. Immediately after graduating with her bachelor's degree, she involved herself with social justice work. While a social justice worker, she formed the #Me too movement" aimed at woman empowerment after encountering a girl who was sexually assaulted by her mother’s boyfriend. Besides, she founded a non-profit organization made for fighting for the rights of disadvantaged girls. To promote healing to the sexually molested women, Burke used the phrase 'me too' in grassroots campaigns. Burk was determined to empower women from every corner of the earth by using all means possible, which included using me too on the twitter and encouraging CNN to air it out.
