Abstract

The study is purposed to determine ways in which interest in mathematics among both teachers and students can be attained. The research is spearheaded by the fact that a substantial number of teachers and students are not interested in taking mathematics and argue it is not significant in their future lives. The researcher used a descriptive study design in which she surveys to find out the portion of students is not interested in taking mathematics. Besides, the researchers observe teachers and students' response concerning the mathematics subject. Upon the researcher hearkening from the student and teacher's view of mathematics she goals ahead and teaches them how to develop interests in mathematics and helps them apply such skills by equipping them with books and practical workshops. The research confirms that students' loss of interest in mathematics in fueled by their teachers who perceive mathematics as a difficult subject which lack real-life applicability.
