for a fixed number of years. The offender must remain in prison for at least
the entire minimum prison term before temporary or permanently released (Stemen et al., 184). Such a verdict is given to
an offender who is convicted of a specific charge. The application of mandatory
sentencing is applied in various ways attributed to giving actors more powers
than judges in determining criminal justice. The prosecutor's decision whether
to charge to a mandatory sentence is determined by the policies governing
prosecution charges and the charge of the crime.
