Introduction

Leadership highlights different areas; for example, it might denote a manager who establishes policies that allow a business to attain competitive advantage. Leaders are persons, who ensure they follow the rules and guideline through setting direction and identifying a motivating vision. Today, the operations and success of any organization depend on the efforts of the management team. An active top executive makes intelligent decisions and lets the firm maximize the available market gaps. Leadership is a complex phenomenon that has continually evolved based on organizational and psychological analysis of management theories such as trait, behavior, and contingency theories of leadership. Using these models, companies understand leadership and how to improve relations with end-users since good leaders motivate the organization to pursue prosperity, despite the numerous industrial challenges. According to the management theories, progressive administrators have to: align company activities with organizational goals, issues instruction on work teams, ensures proper use of resources, inspire the workforce to attain their objectives and plans for the future.  As a result, this essay examines the importance of management approaches of leadership in the modern-day global commercial platform, and how businesses apply them to achieve success.

The Relevance of Traits Theory in Today’s Business World

The Traits Theory of Leadership explores the behavior and conduct of influential people to forecast the qualities of a good leader. The model identifies specific governance characteristics that are referenced to those of probable persons to determine if they will prosper or fail. Academicians and psychologists use this logical structure to identify qualities such as mutual interactions, duty-linked, know-how, self-belief, character, demographic details and psychosomatic to determine leader development and usefulness (Fahr, Lanaj, & Iles, 2017). This model pinpoints the traits that differentiate leaders from non-leaders. Trait model highlights the basis that frontrunners are 'born, not made’ and describes leadership as something inborn, as opposed to learned attributes. It is true that most of the influential people are born with leadership qualities; for example, Boddy (2017) explains that previous studies recognized that there is a relationship between leadership and personality. This model is relevant as it distinguishes actual governance teams from a less active one due to the differences in personality, abilities, and interests in the attainment of firm objectives. Using the model, management theorists have identified fundamental characteristics of productive top executive personnel through assessing their work teams and recognizing those with potential headship skills.

The Traits Theory of Leadership is relevant in the present business world as it recognizes essential qualities that make a person an effective governor. Some of the characters comprise but are not restricted to respect, trust, determination, and ambition. The traits concept underlines the importance of cooperative exchanges since it accepts that mutual interactions make active leaders. Isaacson (2012), in his issue, identified mannerisms that defined the leadership of Steve Jobs that correlated with the qualities underlined by this model. The success of Apple Inc. relied on his necessary attributes such as intelligence, which allowed him to identify that some people depicted a natural inclination to leadership than others.  However, this theoretical approach has a limited application since the majority of the individuals in a workforce are not born with leadership qualities but get to develop them through apprenticeship. It is true that those without innate makings also turn out to be effective leaders as they can cultivate their skills to suit management positions, and steer commercial empires towards prosperity. As a consequence, today businesses implement interactive programs that support a culture that shapes the innate leadership abilities of a workforce.

The Relevance of Behaviorism Theory in Today’s Business World

Behaviorism Theory explains that human beings are capable of learning new behaviors through observation and social interactions. It dispels the interferences of intellectual abilities on the conduct of a person and credits learning from environmental conditions as one of the most significant aspects that cultivate the relations between people. The collective learning procedures underline the importance of conditioning (Ghazzawi, Shoughari, and El-Osta, 2017), and its subdivisions of behavioral and classic provide various social patterns shown by an individual (Lindebaum, 2016). Classic conditioning happens when a...
