Dear Mayor Rex:

Dear Mayor, I hope you are doing well and safe amidst this pandemic period. During this daunting period, lots of disruptions are imminent, but I cannot forget your continuous contribution towards making the city safe. It is these acts of kindness that makes the city adore your service and want to be associated with you.

The primary reason for writing this letter is to bring to your attention increased cases of homeless within our city. It is apparent that the homeless has always been an issue in different parts of the world, but the onset of COVID-19 made the matter worse. More and more people are unemployed, a situation that has rendered many unable to pay rent and even afford other necessities.

Homelessness does not only affect people in middle adulthood and children, but it is also becoming common for youth, even those who have attained basic and tertiary education because they cannot land employment to support their expenses. Increase in job demand is a problem that our industries have not managed to deliver, mainly considering that the economy of our country is on a downward trend.

The main challenges encountered by homeless people is that they cannot manage to live in a decent environment with good sanitation. As a result, they are exposed to secondary challenges such as malaria, Pneumonia, and other complications related to living in a dilapidated condition. Among these issues facing our people need to...
