This past summer, due to the social distancing requirements of public health, oral arguments before the Supreme Court were done over audio conferencing software and the public was given access. Thus, we now have a unique record of how lawyers make arguments before the Supreme Court.   One case that the Court considered was Trump v. Vance. This dealt with the question of whether New York state attorneys could subpoena the President’s tax returns from a third-party tax preparer.
