INSTRUCTIONS:
When most people think of leaders, they think of someone like Abraham Lincoln, Alexander the Great, Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, or Martin Luther King, Jr. However, it is important to recognize that we are surrounded by leaders in every facet of our lives—at home, work, church, and volunteer organizations. The same qualities that a head of state possesses are needed to be a successful coach, to teach a Bible Study class, to lead a family, or to succeed in business. However, most people are not born with natural leadership qualities. For the majority, leadership is learned and developed. Do you have a personal leadership development plan? In this week’s discussion forum, list the leadership traits you would like to develop. What steps are you taking to grow into the sort of person you aspire to be? Share your answers to these two questions with your classmates in this week’s forum discussion. As the syllabus explains, submit your initial post by Thursday night at 11:55 p.m. Your post should contain a minimum of 400 words.
