The culture of start-ups consists of a younger generation running the co-operation affairs. Lyons (2017) depicts this culture as comprising of young men and women who have huge amounts of money surrounding them such that they are not able to manage. On the same context, the start-up culture is associated with bro-co culture to means inexperienced young men who have been left to make decisions on their own instead of having seasoned executives to guide them.

The culture of bro-co has been blamed for causing more harm to the star-ups in various ways. First, bro-co engages in malpractices that can lead to lawsuits. According to Lyons (2017), a human resource company, Zenefits, used software to cheat in providing licenses to insurance brokers. Consequently, this has led to limping of Zenefits and laying off its staffs. This effect is conceptualized by the urge of the younger generation to make quick profits using the shortest route.
