The nursing landscape has significantly changed over the last few years, mainly due to increased demand for medical services and an inflexible work environment. The first challenge that nurses face is associated with staffing issues. Cherry and Jacob (2016) acknowledge the shortage of nurses has led to work-overload for the limited number of nurses expected to serve a large population of patients who stream in health care facilities in different parts of the world every day. A shortage of staffing leads to a high patient-to-nurse ratio, which leads to physical and psychological constraints due to high workload.
The second problem faced by contemporary day nurses is work hazards. The issues of work hazard have never been eminent like it has been in 2020. For example, when COVID-19 was discovered, it was a tall order for all nurses to remain safe; some did not have access to protective gear, increasing their chances of being infected. According to
