Is Social Media Causing Young Adults Depression?

FINDINGS

The main objective of the research was to find out whether there exists a positive or negative correlation between the use of social media and depression. To arrive at a conclusive answer, the researcher posed several questions to the target respondents in the target population within the United States, UK, Australia, and Hong Kong.

Response by age

The researcher wanted to know the age of social media users. 45% of the respondents indicated that were between 20-21 years, 20% between 22-23 years, 15% between 24-25 years, 10% were aged 26, and 10% were aged between 18-19 years. From this finding, those between the age of 20-23 had the highest frequency in the use of social media, totaling 65%.
