Costs and Budgets Assignment 1 - Read Chapter 20 of our text entitled “Managing Costs and Budgets”. View the PowerPoint presentation. Group Project #2 Rubric Assignment 2 – Read the following scenario. Letitia, RN, BSN, has been the evening charge nurse on 3 South, a general medical-surgical unit at the Medical Center Hospital, for 3 years. The nurse manager has suddenly experienced a long-term illness, and Letitia is asked to serve as the temporary manager of the unit. The first financial report Letitia receives is the expendable supplies report. This report reveals that the projected unit expenditures were $30,000, but the unit was charged for actual expenses of $57,460. Letitia notes that this is the second month for which the expendable supplies expenses have been dramatically over budget. She wants to revise the projected budget to reflect the actual expenses more accurately. Instructions: After reading the assigned chapter and the assignment criteria; within your assigned group: Describe the various factors that Letitia must consider when revising the budget and the multiple approaches that might be used. Create a PowerPoint presentation utilizing this information to present to the Director of Nursing. The group should use 2-3 slides per group member; the cover and reference slides are not included in the total number of slides. The group leader will assign each member a topic to submit to him or her on the appropriate date. The Leader will submit the group assignment to the instructor through the Canvas link. Only the group leader will submit the group project or slides for grading. Leaders, please email the member assignments to course faculty after they have been made. Members, it is your responsibility to label and reference the information on your slides and follow the grading criteria. The group leader WILL NOT do the entire project. Each individual student will be graded on their participation in this group project. It is the Leader's responsibility to organize the slides in a manner that the information flows, the presentation is aesthetically inviting, and the cover and reference slides are correct. This is a professional presentation. All slides should have the same design and not multiple designs. The group leader will apply the final design.
