INSTRUCTIONS:
For their first paper, you will write an intellectual autobiography as it applies to their understanding and belief of “leadership,” no matter how basic or advanced. You should discuss and reflect on the leadership traits, strengths and competencies they bring to an organization or to the community in which they live, including the type of leader they hope to be in the future. They should also discuss the traits, strengths and competencies they admire in others. Essentially, you should use this paper as an opportunity to reflect on leadership, within and around them. Successful papers will include discussion on leadership as it applies to degree seeking and involvement commitments. Postulation on the potential impact this course might have on both academic and cocurricular pursuits, in the immediacy and in the future, is highly encouraged. This paper is an intellectual autobiography. It is not to be confused with a traditional autobiography. The intellectual autobiography should reflect your views, goals, and strengths as they apply to leadership with the facets of experience, influence and optimism woven into it.
