Imprints on Native Lands Book Review

INSTRUCTIONS:

write a 3-page book review on the book named Imprints on Native Lands: The Miskito- Moravian Settlement Landscape in Honduras by Tillman, Benjamin- Geography subject. 1. The review should be at least 825 words -  Begin your review with a bibliographical citation, giving author, title, place of publication, publisher, date of publication, and number of pages. 2.    Make sure the review contains a concise summary of the book’s content. The review should contain an adequate description of the book’s topic, argument, and purpose. 3.    The introduction should provide a summary of the book's thesis, subject and scope.  This might include references to the place, time period, and general circumstances the book treats.  Also consider discussing the author's background, training, experience, and other publications.  Write the review for an audience that has not read the book, but that might be interested in reading it. 4.    Identify the author's thesis.  Nearly every book has one, although it may be difficult to find.  What interpretation(s) does the author make?  What arguments does the author make?  Are they influenced by the author's point of view?  Does the author argue successfully? 5.    The review should probably comment on the author's point of view.  This may influence an author to treat a subject in a certain way.  For instance, economic geography written by a Marxist will likely differ significantly from that written by a capitalist. 6.    Consider commenting on the author's sources.  Does the author use primary or secondary sources?  Are they appropriate?  Has the author researched the topic thoroughly?  Did the author document the sources (provide endnotes or footnotes)?  If the book lacks documentation, why is that the case? 7.    Feel free to discuss the book's literary merits.  Does it read well?  Why or why not?  Does the author use "loaded" words or excessive jargon? 8.    Does the book have value?  If so, in what way?  To what audience would you recommend the book?  Does it help illuminate geography?  Does it offer new evidence or a new interpretation? 9.    The review should be three and a half to four typewritten double-spaced pages in length with one-inch margins. Its form, composition, and style should reflect college-level work.  Do not use first-person narrative and write your review for a general, but educated, audience.
