Importance of
Applicable Theories and Principles of Acquiring Knowledge and Communication
This essay aims at discussing the importance of
applicable theories together with the principles of acquiring knowledge and
communicating. The paper will psycho-analyze the theories of learning, it will
aspire to recognize the discourse and the relationship that occurs between
tutoring and theories involved in learning and develops new approaches to
meliorate teaching. In addition, the paper will include the significance of
these tactics and how they advance inclusive learning.
A theory is a thought or a series of thoughts that are
meant to make intelligible explanations for issues and facts. It is a thought
that has been proposed or introduced which has a possibility of being reliable
but has not yet been proven to be true (Brown, 2000). According to research
carried out, there are three major theories relating to this study and they
include;
1.
The Humanist School
2.
The Behaviorist School
3.
The Cognitivist School
It is a theory that mainly concentrates on
subjectively evident conduct while disregarding self-governing processes of the
brain. Scientists give a description of learning as the acquiring of brand new
conduct depending on the surroundings'. According to Wilson (2009),
"Behavior is learned from things seen around them or from the environment,
or that individuals respond to stimuli and that learning and the ability to
learn requires a change in behavior."
The background of behaviorism originates from Wilhelm
Wundt who claimed that studying knowingness was the main entity of psychology.
However, this theory was mainly self-examining, meaning it relied majorly on
experiences accounted for by individuals’ (Wilson, 2009). Scientists such as
J.B. Watson disapproved this method; instead, he focused on subjectively
evident, measured behavior and occurrences. Watson's work was from experiments
he conducted on Iva Pavlov, form this experiments he was able to establish that
psychology was interested in behavior from learning.
The environment is a major determinant and that
individuals tend to conduct themselves in a scrupulous manner if the action has
been honored thus it recurs. Skinner (2009) claims that providing straight away
feedback whether in favor or not of the action makes the person act in a
particular manner. If the feedback was positive, it encourages a future
recurrence of the action, otherwise, if it is negative, it influences the
individual to act differently. Pessimistic reactions get
"stamped-out" while the positive ones get "stamped-in".
Psychologists confirm that actions are as a result of
previous outcomes, it comes from the thought that individuals tend to act in a
certain way due to outcomes that occurred in the past (Knowles, 2014). Thus,
this emphasizes the rationality of why students are inclined to behave in
particular ways in class because of the past not so good experiences regarding
education.
Behaviorism can also be analyzed in the context of "ABC" meaning "Antecedent Behavior Consequences"....
