How the App is Made:

The development of an app is an intricate process consisting of numerous stages. One such step involves configuring its graphical user interface (GUI), the visual aspect that users interact with directly. Integration of APIs like Google Maps and GPS facilitates location-based services, while transaction and login features help provide secure user interactions within the app. Amazon Web Services (AWS) managed server-side operations and launched the app smoothly and with high availability, creating an exceptional user experience (Zott, Amit, & Massa, 2011). AWS ensures seamless operation and high uptime, ensuring a positive user experience.

Introduction and Management by the Yirrganydji:

The Yirrganydji people play a significant role in the operation and management of the app. They are tasked with registering and recording activities in the yearning circle program, leveraging their cultural expertise to effectively manage the feedback and overall operation of the app. As a result, the majority of the operation and management of the app is conducted by the Yirrganydji people themselves. This approach ensures the app's cultural sensitivity and appropriateness, aligning it with Yirrganydji's engagement strategies and management ethos.

Adoption and Education of App Usage and Maintenance:

The app holds immense potential as a tool for cultural preservation and education. It offers a platform for the Yirrganydji people to contribute directly to preserving their culture by implementing educational programs and documenting user participation and feedback (Bevan, Carter, & Harker, 2015). This engagement with the app not only aids in maintaining the app but also educates the users about the Yirrganydji culture and traditions. Through the routine usage and maintenance of the app, users can gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Yirrganydji culture, further solidifying the app's purpose as a cultural and educational tool.

Design Costings

As previously outlined, developing and maintaining an app involves various components with associated costs. It should be noted that these costs are approximate estimates based on Australian application development markets.

App Development: The cost of developing an app requires multiple steps, from planning to designing, developing, testing, and deployment. Each stage comes with its associated costs; on average, app development in Australia typically ranges between AUD 30,000-200,000 depending on complexity and features, given that our app will feature GUI design, database connectivity, and API integrations as part of its functionality, we could expect our costs to fall nearer the higher end of this spectrum.

Server and Maintenance Costs: Since AWS will be used for server operations, there will be ongoing costs related to server usage, data storage, and transfer. Depending on the scale and user count, these expenses could range anywhere from AUD 500 - 1000 monthly; updates/bug fixes/new feature development expenses could account for 15-20% of initial development cost annually.

Management and Operation by Yirrganydji: Because Yirrganydji people will play such an integral part in running the app, there will likely be costs associated with their involvement - this may include salary or stipend payments as well as training costs; any specific agreements would need to be discussed beforehand depending on its scope of involvement (McKelvey & Andriani, 2018).
