Human Communication Research Paper
Today,
human and intercultural communication is regarded as an essential factor in the
globalized world (Littlefield et al., 67). People move from one place to another
but still need to communicate despite the cultural differences. Culture
involves combining with each other gradually; as such, intercultural
communication consists of the process of exchanging information between people
belonging to different cultures. In my human and intercultural communication
research, I interacted with Tony Li who is a student at the university. The
primary objective of my interaction with Tony Li was to identify the
differences in our cultures as well as to experience and analyze our
intercultural interaction.

met Tony Li on my way to the lecture halls, and it is then that we agreed to
meet over lunch. During our interaction, I learned that Tony Li is a Chinese
student who has moved to the United States to further his education in
Intercultural Communication and Cultural Studies. I inquired from Tony Li how
long he has in the United States he responded by saying ‘I have been in the country

Americans. Chinese people favor small talks concerning marital status, income,
and age something that Americans consider overly personal and intrusive. This is
a cultural difference despite Americans being fond of placing people in context
so that to search for common grounds.
There are notable similarities concerning intercultural communication and interaction between the Americans and the Chinese people. Both groups like to ask questions and listen; however, asking them too many questions is something that can be deemed inappropriate. Tony Li...
