How Smoking Affects the Economy

INSTRUCTIONS:

All research papers and proposals contain a background section that compiles the existing knowledge of the subject. You are required to have at least one peer-reviewed article from the library databases that relate to your final paper topic. Peer-reviewed or Scholarly articles are original pieces of research from accredited journals. Examples include articles from the Journal of Social Psychology, Journal of Applied Science, etc. Articles from Time Magazine, Psychology Today, Scientific American, etc. do not count for your peer-reviewed source. Once you have read your article, you will need to summarize and cite that information and discuss how that relates to the topic for your research design. Your summary must include in-text citations for your source in APA formatting. Remember, you must cite anything that is not your own idea, even if you have reworded that information. In-text citations in APA must include at least the authors’ last name and year of publication. For example if you have summarized in your own words the citation would look like this: (Myers & DeWall, 2016). If you are citing a direct quote you must also include the page number, and the citation would look like this: (Myers & DeWall, 2016, pp. 12). There is a Citation Guide that you can refer to under Paper Information in the Content section of D2L.
