The world is experiencing a dramatic change in technology,
one of which is the invention of robots competing with human beings at work.
Robots have overtaken most human tasks like cleaning rooms because they are
considered cheaper than the wages paid to human beings when they execute the
same job. However, there is no clear evidence that the need for human skills
shall diminish at any given time. The
automation activities made to transfer tasks from human beings to robots create
a new job structure that cannot be solved by robots like problem-solving.
First, robots shall replace human beings from the workplace
in totality because firms are building teams with flexible skillsets. Most
enterprises are reimagining the staff-boss relationship and embracing a new job
philosophy that matches the organization's needs with employees' flexibility
and skills-based interactions (Steil & Maier, 2017). Firm leaders have
understood that outdated talent strategies might not confer the adaptability
required to sustain and grow an organization. In response, CEOs shift from a
talented and rigid role towards skills-based open talents that integrate
innovation and problem-solving capabilities.
Skills-based open talent makes human being to respond to the changing need of the customers better the robot can do.In most cases, a robot is associated with speed and accuracy in delivering their service. Still, they lack flexibility, so the change of customer needs would also require alterations to be made on the automated system to be able to function in the new environment and deliver the desired outcome. Such re-programming of a plan to conform to the recent changes is time-consuming.
