For this assignment, you need to produce a 350-word analysis of a fieldwork setting. The fieldwork setting is a typical bank branch. The security measures at this bank are: - HD CCTV cameras - Security guards by the entrance - Physical security shutters (which used when the bank is shut)   Using at least 2 of these security measures, you will need to relate these security features to academic literature based on criminological risk theories (the risk society, governing through risk or you can use both theories). For example, for CCTV in use, you might draw upon a book or article about CCTV, and use that to say something about Pat O’Malley’s or Jonathan Simon's work on risk through the governmentality approach or Ulrich Beck’s work on the risk society.  You could show how one of the theories from the module explains the practices you have observed, and / or show how the site you have observed either supports or disproves one of the theories. Ultimately, what you’re trying to do is use some empirical evidence (your observations) to engage with the arguments that scholars have put forward about crime risk and its management.
