So much of nursing has to do with comforting the FAMILY of a patient, with empathy and a caring manner...  Give a brief synopsis of your lineage; anywhere from your grandparents era to your children.  What sort of culture or traditions have been passed down through the generations?  How have you been shaped by your native language and customs?  What values and morals have been learned from family?  What are some deeply influential memories that will never be forgotten?  You can choose to focus on just one family member, or a few.  And how much self-disclosure is up to you.  Use Chapter 12 as a guide to organize your presentation with a strong beginning, middle, and end.  This speech should be carefully crafted and designed to engage your audience.  Only 2-4 minutes of time, concise and informative.  Small index cards are allowed, but use them sparingly.   A typed outline must be provided the day before your presentation.
