INSTRUCTIONS:
What is science, and why is the experimental method important to science as a way of seeking truth? Discuss how science originated in the renaissance, and how its methods were different from philosophy or religion. 2. Discuss how the experimental approach was used to understand behavior in physiology and early psychology. 3. Discuss how the behaviorists used the experimental approach, especially how Watson and Skinner thought behaviorism was the only science of psychology. 4. Discuss one or two people who thought that psychology wasn’t a science yet, or couldn’t be a science. Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not? What are the strengths and limitations of the experimental approach?
