In the second essay for the course, you will be required to locate a social or personal issue and identify the moral or ethical principles involved. Building from this, you will then explain the ethical principles at issue and finally argue for a solution based on an evaluation of available ethical frameworks.  You are welcome to choose any issue we have explored in class (child marriage, LGBTQ+ rights, mimetic violence, etc.) or one that relates to our topics for the semester.  The paper should attempt to answer the following: 1. Describe the history of your topic. 2. What are the ethical problems associated with the issue? 3. What ethical principles would be useful for solving the issue? Select the two best. 4. Decide which of the two frameworks should be applied and argue for its usage in some type of solution. Papers should be 5 pages, double spaced, turned in through canvas link. Style, Grammar, and substance will all count toward a successful paper. This is more of an argumentative paper than a research paper, so spend your time on the ideas you generate and argue, rather than the historical research. While you should still use and cite information you utilize in the paper, there are no requirements for outside scholarly resources, beyond what would aid your argument. I will leave two sources that you need to use for sure, but add two other scholarly sources to help with the argument. Feel free to discuss any issue, but please be specific and when quoting make sure to talk about where the quote comes from, last time someone on this platform wrote a philosophy essay I got a 85/100, and I wanna get more than a 90 this time. So make sure to be specific and detailed about the arguments and the claims, feel free to use any ethic theory as well.
