You will take on the challenge of evaluating a real-world issue of ethics and social responsibility in the workplace by applying the Social Responsibility Spectrum.   You are a director in a small non-profit agency that provides mental health and support services to disabled seniors and disabled veterans. Recently budget cuts have caused the agency to re-evaluate which programs the agency can offer. One of the most important factors at play in your decision making is that your agency is the only agency that provides specialized transportation for disabled individuals with unique needs that require specialized vehicles and door-to-door pick-up. If you stop providing these services there are no known alternatives for these clients in your rural area because alternative transport services don't offer the vans and pick up services necessary. In addition, the Veteran's Administration office in your area is outside of the usual routes for other organizations.  In your last directors' meeting your CEO announced that to cut costs the organization would stop providing this specialized transportation. You speak up and indicate that this is an issue of serving diversity in your organization. Answer the following questions: 1. Using the Levels of Responsibility from the Powerpoint identify what the agency response to this issue would be within each of the four categories; Obstruction Response, Defensive Response, Accomodative Response & Proactive Response. 2. It can be difficult to be convincing and politically appropriate when we advocate for client rights and services. Describe how you would raise this issue to the leadership of your organization. Specifically address how you will approach your leadership team and what you want to present to the team to support your case.  3. Leadership is likely to ask for a solution. Identify or create a 'next step' that might help the organization keep this service. Your idea doesn't need to be a solution, simply a starting point or alternative to getting rid of the service.
