INSTRUCTIONS:
The final paper would be about 5-7 pages. The outline would be about ~300 words. It does not have to be written as a prose. It can be written as bullet points, but provide as much detail as it may allow. More importantly, the outline will state the problem/topic you're trying to discuss, your thesis statement or your argument, how you're going to argue for your thesis or which ethical theory you will apply, how someone might object to your proposal, and other things you'd think important for your paper, bibliography, etc. The paper is an application of the ethical theories discussed in class, hence applied ethics. It will be on a topic of your choice. You may use any ethical theory you'd like, but it might be easier to use utilitarianism or Kantianism (or virtue ethics) as that would be easier. You may also use any of the topics from the first handout, under the heading "Applied Ethics". Some of the topics may range from "is it moral to eat animals", "is abortion permissible", or "during a pandemic, should we take the resources originally allocated to older people to save the young", etc. Is abortion permissible: https://bconline.broward.edu/d2l/le/content/408843/topics/files/download/11773784/DirectFileTopicDownload
