My research paper will examine and analyze the Parsley Massacre in the Dominican Republic, this tragic event affected the country socially, politically, and economically. In my research I will discuss and exemplify how one genocide can cause a country to change and leave a lasting imprint on its people and culture. I will use several sources from published interviews of those who witnessed the event, national databases and historical texts. My paper will focus on colorism (social aspect), economic repercussions of the genecide, and the political changes that caused and followed the genocide.
