Discussion on the Problem
of Evil
The orthodox theist point of view
regarding the existence of ultimate reality and supreme being is that Gods'
presence is aimed at ensuring people live the best life (a world with no evil).
This understanding leads to the conceptualization of theism as a way of dealing
will all human matters; protecting, healing, guiding, as well as blessing.
People hold the above expectation knowing that God is capable of proving in all
circumstances because He knows everything, is perfect, and His primary
association with humankind is that of a perfect Being. However, the performance
and the fulfillment of people's expectations do not always match with their
expectations.
I do not think the problem of evil can be
solved. Orthodox theism provides
that people continually surfer despite the existence of a God that is devoted
to protecting His people. Despite His immense knowledge about the happening of
the world, evil-ism still affects people; that is why I believe the problem of
evil has not been solved yet. Additionally, human life, at times,
notwithstanding being dependent on God's mercy, falls into incriminating turns
of events that make people question the existence of God's power in foreseeing
and saving His people from such situations. Additionally, the problem of evil
in that theistic perception of God has not been solved since, if that were the
case, "…God would have
a good reason for creating a world with individuals who possessed libertarian
free will…” (Stanford
Encyclopedia of Philosophy).
Even if God were to create a world where every person has liberties of free will, He would still have to ensure that everyone decides to do what is morally acceptable to the vast majority, or rather to everyone since anyone in the world would be the same. Therefore, if the problem of evil...
