According to the video, “How Facebook Changed the World - The Story of the Arab Spring," social networking sites, especially Facebook, enabled communication and collaboration among protesters during the Arab Spring. The video invokes the myth of determinism through explaining how initiating a chain of reactions and spreading news across international borders Facebook tipped the balance of power in Arabic countries; however, propagandists also used it for immoral purposes.

Facebook facilitated the spread of information between protestors and international media outlets such as Al-Jazeera, instigating widespread dissents against repressive regimes.
