The
Problem
For
this stress management plan, I will focus on “Workaholic corporate boss working
12 - 16-hour days, sedentary, poor diet." It is a common view that hard
work leads to high results; in most instances, this perception is true, but the
success gained working hard does not always correlate with implications on
one's health. When one tends to spend lots of time working, taking no time for
breaks, they expose their body to many health conditions, limiting them from
working effectively in the future. Additionally, Owen et al. (2011) investigated “Adults' Sedentary
Behavior," and proved that long periods of seating down negatively
affected a person's health, specifically the bone structure in the long term.
Given the workaholic corporate boss's situation, it is clear that he is working
for very long hours, most of which is spent sitting down, leading to health problems.
Health Implications
Give the situation in the selected scenarios; many implications are eminent. First, sedentary and lack of a good diet is a recipe for physical tiredness and gaining weight. Owen et al. (2011) noticed that a sedentary lifestyle leads to physical changes that do not only make a person unable to work well but also reduce work moral due to poor body image. Additionally, the selected scenario represents a situation where the boss is likely to develop stress and depression. Owen et al. (2011) believed that long seating hour inhibits a person from enjoying the outside world or exercising muscles to feel at ease or rejuvenate, leading to an emotional problem.
