Design a Training Course

INSTRUCTIONS:

Using what you have learned from this course about cognition and memory, design a program to help improve successful study habits for college students. Refer to at least three topics covered in the course (i.e., long-term memory, problem solving, language, etc.) and discuss the relevant research pertaining to how your program would be designed to capitalize on what is known about these areas. Your paper should summarize fundamental issues, questions, and controversies and provide a guideline regarding how the course might proceed. Include the provision of the course goals, clarifying what you want the students to accomplish how your program will impact students what knowledge, skills, or abilities will be addressed in the program Introduce how the topics will be covered Support topics and choices made To accomplish this, you will have to use recent research articles (published within the past five years) to illustrate relevant points. You may use any number of electronic databases to find research articles that deal with your topic, including the library and the Internet. You may not use the course text or newspaper or magazine articles as your primary reference, but they are sometimes useful when they lead you to an appropriate research article. (You may wish to consult the library staff or your instructor to determine whether a particular journal is peer-reviewed.)  Avoid simply repeating the articles in summary form; use them within the text of your paper to illustrate important points. Leverage the writing of the paper to showcase effective application of cognition and memory relevant concepts. FORMATTING:  Your paper should be 7-10 pages, or about 1,800 words, in length.  Use APA style subheadings, double-spacing, 12-point font, one-inch margins (left, right, top, and bottom), page numbering, and logical flow from topic to topic. Include a title page, abstract and references page(s).  The text of your paper should be preceded by an abstract (about 100 words) that summarizes the key points in the paper (i.e., a statement of the problem, major findings, and conclusions).  The page count requirement excludes the title page, abstract, and references.
