Discuss the perception of Mbeki on AIDS, so-called “denialism,” and his reliance on “dissident science” in response to, and the understanding of, the disease. Elaborate the origins of the perception in the framework of “African Renaissance” and explain how the racist myth and ideologies are related to Mbeki’s perception of African identity and AIDS.
