This exercise is to provide students with hands-on experience using Survey123 in the field to collect data. Students should each collect; 5 to 15 points within a location that is easy to access and not a place of residency/work. Acceptable non-sensitive sites, such as; Parks, Town Centrals, Public Hiking Trails, Shopping Districts, etc. A Survey123 form was introduced to you through a short demo video and you will be using the created form to collect data and add it to a shared map that will be accessible to the class to view. (Keeping that in mind when you collect the data it will be visible by others, also you may not have access to delete the form data once you submit it; images, names, etc. ) The Survey123 form should be accessible to everyone on their phones, tablets or computers by clicking on the link located below and there is no need to download the application, however if you are comfortable the app is available in most App store as Survey 123 or accessible online at https://survey123.arcgis.com/ Link to Survey (click link or type into web browser Link to Survey ( to start collecting data, sign into your account) https://arcg.is/Si9yj Collection types were developed to classify your observation (i.e. the observed sunflower would be classified as flower). Feel free to be creative and present a theme to your collection set. You will be working individually on this exercise and should refrain from pictures of people when adding an attachment. Export the data from Survey123 online (Link to Data Map) 2. Bring the data into ArcGIS Online or ArcPro (Easy to use layout features) 3. Apply symbology to your points to make them unique (Hint – Select by Attribute) 4. Optional – Label your features 5. Apply appropriate cartographic map elements (maybe limited in ArcGIS online) 6. Perform at least one spatial analysis process with your data (e.g. buffer, union overlay, intersections, etc.) 7. Optional – Add another data source 8. Export Map to PDF and submit on the CMS.
